The offered collectibles were issued for the “Whiz Kids” 1950 World Series endeavor. Taking the baseball world by storm (as they did this past October), the Phillies made just the second World Series appearance in franchise annals that year. Includes: Game 1 Program issued at Shibe Park, this 32-page publication features black-and-white player photos, statistics and scoring grids which have been marked in pencil to detail a 1-0 Game 1 shutout by New York's Vic Raschi. With covers and all pages intact, the guide is in VG condition, with wrinkling at the lower right corner; (2) 1950 World Series Press Passes complete with thread hangers and team logos, these items admitted their bearer (Newburgh News scribe Wesley Gill) to Shibe Park (Game 1) and Yankee Stadium (Games 3 and 4).
